Testimonies in Action--Films from the Visual Arts in Friends Schools Peer Network Conference

Check out three films made by art teachers at the  Friends Council on Education's 3rd annual Visual Arts in Friends Schools Peer Network conference at Pendle Hill.  Visual Art Teachers were split into groups and given a Quaker testimony, a Flip Video camera, and one hour to plan and film a story that would reflect the testimony "in action."  Andy Cohen, media arts teacher at Brooklyn Friends School says, "I have already employed these films in class by having students first view the films, then evaluate the stories on how effectively they conveyed their given value."

Here are the links to the films.

Here's what Tom Hoopes of George School had to say:

"These are FABULOUS!    They are fun, crisp and engaging... these are great tools for promoting discussion of the Quaker testimonies.  I plan to forward these to everyone in the GS Religion Department to encourage them to consider using them in their classes."
