Quaker Youth Leadership Conference √

Below are listed interesting things I found recently on the web: blog posts, or questions/comments from the Bridge Film Festival online communities – reflections on the festival and videos from our international world of Quaker education. I encourage you to review them for yourself and please send me any ideas or suggestions to share on this blog.

On Friday evening February 7th, I drove down to Westtown School to present an hour of films from the Bridge Film Festival archive/YouTube Channel.  The traffic was intense and I think I stopped at every traffic light in Pennsylvania but fear not I made it in the nick of time.  There was a large receptive audience of student leaders and faculty from many Friends schools waiting for me in the "Girls Collecting Room."  Below is the playlist I put together for the event.  I made the list with my QYLC audience in mind.  The films are from upper schools only and other that represent the diversity of our schools and all the festival categories.  A special thanks goes to Susan Waterhouse of Westtown school and the Quaker Youth Leadership Conference 2014 Planning Committee for arranging this event.

1. WORK WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT. Don’t write that epic crowd scene unless you know there’s a festival happening next week that you can steal as a backdrop. Play to your strengths...

From Sandy Springs School SSFS -- What is Quaker Meeting for Worship?
Published on Feb 6, 2014
Ever wonder what a Quaker Meeting for Worship is all about? Students, teachers, alumni, and the Head of School at Sandy Spring Friends School share their perspectives about what it means to gather together in silence in a video produced by SSFS parent Cheryl Crim. The production was made possible by a generous grant from the Sue Thomas Turner Quaker Education Fund.
